Self-care is so important to help improve overall well-being.

I am the founder of Self-Care Counselling and Psychological Services; a Registered Psychologist with a PhD in Psychology. I have many years of research experience in Universities across Canada, working in non-profit organizations, and in public health sectors. This has enhanced the opportunity for me to provide a respectful environment for individuals with diverse backgrounds.

In our sessions, you will be surrounded by empathy, trust, laughter, and unconditional acceptance. I appreciate that every client is unique and collaboratively we will help you move towards your goals to achieve healthy and meaningful change. I strive to empower my clients by providing and guiding strategies to help identify ways of coping, ways to feel safe, and ways of taking back some control in their lives. I have worked with adults experiencing: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and stress. Other areas of practice include grief/loss and helping individuals struggling with pregnancy or postpartum issues.

So why did I develop Self-Care Counselling and Psychological Services? I believe that many individuals struggle with making themselves a priority in their own life. Looking to grab either a few minutes or few hours of self-care is not self-serving nor selfish. Self-care means different things to different people. Just know that there is never a wrong choice for implementing your own self-care.

Therapeutic approaches I use in my practice are aimed for you to have the highest quality of life. These include:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Mindfulness; Solution-Focused Activities; Person-Centered (Rogerian) Therapy;Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy.

Brainspotting Therapy is provided as a brain-body based therapeutic tool to help access, process and heal from unresolved trauma and negative emotions.

Couples therapy is offered to help couples who are experiencing challenges in their relationship.

If you are looking for indigenous counselling, I am a NIHB provider.
